A new home, does undoubtedly, entail a lot of happiness, satisfaction and excitement; albeit with a price tag that is quite overwhelming.
According to a research by Halifax Estate Agents, furnishings of a new house involved expenses of about £8,000, with necessities like a bed, essential furniture, cooking utensils and a television amounting to about £3,751 and comforts or ‘nice-to-haves’ like closets, a home theatre system and dining room chairs, costing another £2,277. Furthermore, luxuries like a plasma screen TV and a computer would make one shell out around £2,165.
The Halifax explained that nowadays, people wanted to move in to their new home when it was fully furnished. Hardly anyone wanted to compromise or wait to furnish their home later. They preferred their house to be ready to use and even ready to invite people over from the first day itself. Thereby, Halifax suggests buyers to take up a personal loan to meet up the costs of their lofty dreams of furnishing their new home. A loan for the purpose would ensure speedy and systematic payments besides sharing the financial burden of the owner.
Colin Kemp, managing director of Halifax Estate Agents, said, “As a general rule when you move into a new house you need something to sleep on, something to sit on, basic cooking and washing facilities and something to eat from. Beyond that, if you are on a tight budget, it could be argued that everything else is a luxury. But most people want their new home to look and feel great from day one and so the list of 'essentials' tends to grow substantially."
Therefore, shop around for a personal loan that offers you the best deal and move in to your beautifully furnished dream home in just the way you have always wanted to.
