LONDON: High profile department store Selfridges is planning to launch an iPod tutorial charging the uninitiated 65 pounds for a 40-minute one-on-one session at the store. According to news reports, the lessons can also be taken at one's home for a little extra fee.
The course content includes basic iTunes and iPod usage, setting up playlists, transferring songs and videos and downloading podcasts.
The Oxford Street department store said it thought of the service as there have requests for help in understanding the uses of the gadget, mostly from young children and older buyers.
Apple itself is offering free lunchtime iPod and iTunes workshop on most weekdays at its Regent Street store and many people are taking advantage of this facility.
Incidentally the cheapest iPod -- the iPod Shuffle -- is sold in retail at 69 pounds.
Selfridges has introduced a music transfer service called SpeedPod in December last, under which it transfers music from a CD to the iPod for a price.
