LONDON - Christopher Bailey, Burberry's creative director has rubbished reports that the fashion brand was ditching Supermodel Kate Moss after she as shown snorting coke in a tabloid newspaper.
In an interview with the Evening Standard, Bailey said that reports about Burberry ditching Kate were 'nonsense.' Moss has been the face of nine out of 16 Burberry campaigns since 1998. "Is Kate still part of our family? Absolutely," Bailey said. "Yes, she has some issues that she probably needs to resolve, but don't we all? She's living in the public eye -- but she's a model, and she's probably the best one ever in the world. And she's a good, good person inside."
Kate Moss was ditched by French company Chanel and Swedish company H & M after pictures of her snorting coke were published in The Daily Mirror. Moss publicly apologized for her behaviour and vowed to correct it. Subsequently she joined rehab at an Arizona facility for a month and emerged from there recently. After rehab, Moss has posed for a Roberto Cavalli photo shoot. She also appeared on the front cover of Vanity Fair and W magazine.
It was speculated that Burberry had also dropped her, a report that Bailey refuted. "We are certainly not going to say, because of one incident, that she has nothing to do with us. That would be so hypocritical. She has always been incredibly professional -- and that girl works, she really works," Bailey said. He also rubbished reports of Siena Miller replacing Moss in future Burberry campaigns. "No, Sienna is not in the new ad campaign. We can definitely say that."
