Are you living in Britain and suffering regarding debt problems, unemployment or housing issues? If this is true, all you have to do is to turn to a new NHS Stressline for advice and guidance. This is the latest approach of the National Health Service (NHS) and the sole intention of the premier health service in England behind the launch of this new helpline is to offer support from trained health advisers.

What has made NHS do the same? Perhaps there is no need to mention that anxieties in great amounts have been raised over the mental welfare of people owing to the number of people suffering from anxiety, stress and depression related to financial problems. In short, Britons in great numbers are encountering several problem that were alien to them even in the last decade.  

To deal with these the helpline has been launched and it will direct such people to a wider support network to make sure that the problems do not escalate.

It is likely that a quarter of people with mental health problems will be in debt, but a third will not ask for any help. The launch of the helpline coincides with the post-Christmas period where many people suffer from problems with payments after overspending during the Christmas period.

Speaking on this, care services minister, Phil Hope, said: "Tightening our belts and getting out of debt always features high on the list of new year resolutions.” "But debt can have a serious impact on a person\'s mental wellbeing, causing stress, depression and even suicidal thoughts."

On the word of mental health lead at NHS Direct, Jacqui Jedrzejewski, the helpline and their advisers were there to "offer sympathetic, relevant support and advice". She said: "We know the credit crunch hits people in many different ways and job insecurity, redundancy, debt and money problems can all cause feelings of distress and helplessness."
