Eating in for many is a new holiday trend as over half of holidaymakers seek to save money on eating out but are people getting the best deal on their holiday travel money?

Currency cardsOther holidaymaker initiatives to save money include cutting back on entertainment and shopping and taking holiday essentials like food and drink away in the suitcase, not just clothes!

Taking a self catering holiday is considered by many as a way to save money according to research by Tesco Travel Money.

A Tesco Travel Money spokesperson commented ‘holidaymakers may need to sacrifice a few glad rags to make room in their suitcase for essentials like tea, coffee and cereals.’

They added ‘Getting a good deal on your foreign currency can make your holiday money stretch a lot further so it makes sense to shop around.

Tesco, and many other providers, offer commission-free holiday travel money at their bureaux de change.

As well as taking foreign currency cash, currency cards are becoming popular with holidaymakers.
