There were lots of conjectures of this in the pertinent scenario and worldwide media and now it is true that globally acclaimed technology giant IBM is going to take over Initiate Systems. In this regard, IBM has signed a definitive agreement to get hold of the Chicago-based Initiate Systems. Initiate Systems is a company that makes software for sharing data among healthcare and government organisations.
It has also been found that IBM is optimistic to close down the transaction in the first quarter of 2010 after the customary closing conditions and regulatory clearance. Albeit financial details of the deal have not been revealed yet, IBM intends to incorporate the Initiate organisation with its information management business after the closing.
"With the addition of Initiate\'s software and its industry expertise, IBM will offer clients a comprehensive solution for delivering the information they need to improve the well-being of patients at a lower cost," said IBM Information Management General Manager Arvind Krishna.
On the word of Bill Conroy, President and CEO of Initiate Systems, the company, which has worked with IBM for about five years, found itself getting an increasing number of requests for medical records and electronic medical records globally, including from China, India and Mexico.
